Once a major wool town, Stamford used to form part of the Great North Road. Stamford featured in both Pride and Prejudice and The Da Vinci Code movies in recent years.
The well-preserved and picturesque cobbled stoned street, which nestles behind All Saints’ Church, was used in the BBC TV series Middlemarch.
