Constantine Place
Home Farm, Over Road, Longstanton, Cambridgeshire, CB24 3UP
Planning permission has been achieved and, subject to the outcome of any archaeological findings, construction will shortly be starting at Constantine Place in the Cambridgeshire village of Longstanton. This new phase of 184 new properties will be adjacent to an existing development of new homes.
Initially Kier Partnership Homes will be building 25 three, four and five-bedroom houses in varying designs.
Constantine Place will be within walking distance of Longstanton, a traditional countryside village eight miles to the west of the city of Cambridge. Longstanton benefits from a post office and village store, two medieval churches, a local pub and a doctor's surgery. There is a newly built primary school in the village. Longstanton also enjoys its own recreation ground with a wide variety of sports facilities, whilst Cambridge Golf Club, also in Longstanton, has one of the longest golf courses in the county.
The expansion of the village over the years has led to the growth of a vibrant new community, whilst the new Longstanton bypass ensures that congestion in the village is kept to a minimum. Longstanton will also shortly benefit from a brand new Guided Busway which will link Longstanton, via a dedicated bus track, with other Cambridgeshire villages and the city of Cambridge.
Longstanton also benefits from excellent road networks, with the nearby A14 offering easy access to both Cambridge City centre and to Huntingdon, both of which have direct train services to London and other commuter cities and towns.
Avoca
Great North Road, Little Paxton, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, PE19 6LP
Construction is now well under way at Avoca, a forthcoming residential development of new homes in the village of Little Paxton in Cambridgeshire. Kier Partnership Homes, in association with Taylor Wimpey, will be providing 416 mixed residential new properties and ten refurbished homes.
Avoca will provide a choice of one and two-bedroom riverside apartments and a mixture of three and four-bedroom homes in differing designs. The landscaping will be to a high quality and the development will also benefit from well-equipped play areas. A new riverside pub/restaurant will be located adjacent to the lock.
The name 'Avoca', which also means 'river', takes its inspiration from Thomas More's poem of the same name, to highlight the fact that a number of the new homes will be overlooking the Great Ouse river.
The village of Little Paxton has its own nature reserve which is a haven for those who enjoy sailing, walking, bird watching and fishing. However, it is also within easy reach of the major towns of St. Neots, Huntingdon and Bedford and the City of Cambridge. Access to the national motorway network is via the A1, whilst a fast commuter line runs from the nearest town of St. Neots direct to London King's Cross.
